NAMI–Charlotte, an affiliate of both the North Carolina State and National Alliance on Mental Illness, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) grass-roots organization, and is the only Mecklenburg County organization that focuses exclusively on people with serious and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic–depression) and [unipolar] depression.
Our members include individuals suffering from mental illness, family members, professionals in the mental health field and concerned citizens.
Please know that we are an all–volunteer group, so we may not be able to respond immediately to your queries, as our availability may be limited by daily work and family needs.
Also, none of us are trained mental health profesionals, unless otherwise noted on this, our About Us page, or elsewhere on this site.
